Product review

TheLAShop sent me this nifty little photo cube table top studio to try out and review. It's super convenient and easy to set up for  small product shots and comes with 4 different colored backgrounds. When you're finished, it folds up neatly and everything fits in one small box.  I think it's definitely going to make my life easier!  Check out TheLAShop.com, they have a little bit of everything and they are offering my readers a 10% discount! Just use the coupon code "BLOGGERS" at checkout!

Hair workshop

My friend Stephanie, who does hair and makeup for a lot of my brides and clients, taught a hair workshop last week and I took pictures of her student's models.  Steph is amazing! The first two pictures are the models she used for demonstration.  I loved how she did Wren's hair!

Florida

Last week my husband and I went to Florida to do some skiing with my new friend Thomas Gustafson. We had so much fun! We skied so much, our hands were bloody! Thomas is a great coach as well as a great cook and host. He made delicious, healthy meals for us and convinced me to stop drinking my sugar free Rockstars and Power aides!  Thomas is an amazing photographer! His images are perfect straight out of the camera and he doesn't need to do a thing to them in Photoshop unless he wants to! Check out some of his amazing images here.

While I was there, I did a commercial shoot. After I was finished, I wanted to do something for fun, so I asked my model to bring a dress with her. I really didn't have a concept or anything planned. I noticed how dark the water was, especially near the lilly pads and thought that it would look cool to pour milk in it, so I sent my hubby to the store to get 5 gallons of milk and I love how it turned out!!
I decided that I WILL own a house on a lake one day with a dock like this for my boat!

Stephanie Mabey

A couple of years ago, I happened to sit next to Stephanie on a connecting flight out of Denver. We talked the whole flight and became instant friends.  This girl is insanely talented and is about to release her album, "Wake Up Dreaming." She is doing a kickstarter project where she is trying to raise $7000 for her album. If she does not reach her goal of $7000, then she gets nothing. There are 43 days left to pledge and she still needs about $5500. Please check out this link to watch her darling kickstarter video and to pledge.

Celebrity look-a-like contest winner~Blake Lively

Whitney won the celebrity look-a-like contest that Stephanie Brinkerhoff and I held last month. I sent this inspiration board to Stephanie to give her a better understanding of what was in my head and as usual, she was spot on! Whitney was such a good sport! I have been wanting to use my new paddle board for a shoot and she was totally up for it.
