Sometimes I can't help but feel a tiny bit guilty for abandoning my former career as a mammographer, but taking pictures of cute little babies and kids is a LOT more fun than taking pictures of boobs! So I can feel a little less guilt, I am going to preach to you for a minute! Ladies PLEASE get a YEARLY mammogram!! If you have a family history of breast cancer you should start getting mammograms at age 35. If not you can start at 40. You should be doing monthly self breast examinations as well as a yearly breast exam by your doctor. My niece Melissa makes these shirts and also has some darling cards in her etsy shop! My computer is still out of commission and I am using my mac laptop when I am used to my pc desktop! Clients please bear with me until I can get up and running again!

It was a good day!

My computer died on Wednesday! I didn't lose any data or anything thank goodness! I should get it back early next week, so please bear with me while I get caught up. I have been trying to work on my laptop, but it has been a joke! So why did I have a good day today you ask? I awoke to the sound of pouring rain and my youngest daughter's sweet little voice. I turned on the tv and we started watching an old black and white Shirley Temple movie. We were soon joined by my 12 yr. old daughter and 16 yr. old son. We all layed in my bed watching Shirley Temple and listening to the rain. It seems like I haven't had all three of my kids in the same room at the same time in ages-and they weren't fighting....weird. After the movie was over I immediately changed the channel to general conference hoping my kids would stay put and watch it with me. I burst into tears when President Monson announced that there would be a temple built in Rome Italy. My father-in-law who passed away a couple of years ago was the mission president in Rome. I know that would have made him so unbelievably happy and can't help but feel that he had something to do with it. I wondered how many people were thinking of him at that very moment and started to miss him so bad it hurt. I have felt his spirit with me all day. We are going to start saving now so my family and I can travel to Rome for the dedication!

Blake and Allyse~engaged

This was such a fun shoot! Allyse got this awesome retro bike for her birthday and wanted to use it in the shoot! I think she has a kind of retro look and I have always wanted to do something with my vintage apron and jadeite mixing bowl. My plan was to go into Pan Handler's kitchen store where they have a mock kitchen to do the shot, but they were closed so we settled for this cart outside. I asked my husband if he thought it looked too random out on the street and he replied,"No, but who let her out of the kitchen and where did she get those shoes?!!!" I am a bit of a feminist and he loves to get a rise out of me! Then he told me this awful joke: Why do women have smaller feet than men? So they can stand closer to the stove! My hubby really isn't a chauvinistic pig, he just thinks he's pretty funny! I hope his sisters see this and pummel him!

Here are a few from my mentoring session this week. We had so much fun! Danielle came down from Seattle. I schooled her on a little photoshop before heading up to Harley and Bucks in Huntsville for incredibly delicious lunch. My friends Kristin and Jana joined us and brought their adorable daughters Oakley and Greeley to be our models. I have one spot available for mentoring sessions left for the year. If you are interested just drop me an email!
