I'm back from WPPI! My husband and I decided to go at the last minute. I'm glad I went even though I think Las Vegas is an armpit! I got to meet the fabulous Kelly Moore and Jessica Claire and I have some new vendors for wedding albums as well as some new products to offer!

This is a hands-on, shooting workshop designed for the intermediate to advanced.
*Beginners, if you are comfortable with changing your iso, aperture and shutter settings then you will be fine! I will teach you all of my fancy shooting tricks and demonstrate my relaxed shooting style. Then, you will shoot right along side me on models ranging from babies to brides! If you want some fabulous shots for your portfolios, then this is the place to be! I will briefly show you what I do in post processing, but will not be teaching you how to use photoshop. You will also receive a workbook containing my work flow process, vendor list, business tips, favorite actions, shooting tips and marketing ideas! I will also allow time for Q and A!

The workshop is limited to 15 people.

You may pay through paypal to hold your spot! If you are unable to pay with paypal, contact me for arrangements. Class fees are non-refundable.

I have been thinking about offering a workshop in addition to the mentoring sessions that I already do. I am thinking about doing one the first week of March. Anyone interested? Please leave a comment or send me an email. Also, let me know if you are interested in a beginner or intermediate/advanced workshop.

I know it is bad to post without an image so here is one from a senior session I did yesterday. I'll post more later!

Here are a few of my favs from our trip back in October. We went to see my Dad and to go to the Texas Renaissance festival! My dad pretty much built everything there! I wanted to take some more baptism pictures of Avery at the festival because I think her dress looks kind of medieval!

Avery playing on my Dad's tractor.

My Dad built this carousel.

It cracks me up to see my Dad in his renaissance clothes-he's a total cowboy!

They had these cool bubbles filled with smoke flying all over!

It's not a renaissance festival with out luna sticks!

Family session auction

I am going to auction off a family session to try to raise money to help my friend Amelia Lyon's Father who has ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). She is trying to raise enough money to get him a handicap van. Her dad is such an amazing guy! Please read the posts about her dad on Amelia's blog. I was particularly touched by this post by her dad.
"My dear daughter Amelia, I am so incredibly touched by the love and well wishes from all of your blog buddies. The things which have been posted have added to my life additional peace, great courage and an abundance of gratitude in life. I have decided that I no longer have ALS. I now have ALD, "A Lucky Dad". However, this disease doesn't ever end, it goes on forever! How could any father be discouraged, regardless of the situation, when he is blessed with such a loving family? I can not begin to tell you how deeply I love you. I understand how difficult this is in your life. I need you to know that everything is alright and the strength we are learning from this trial is far beyond our ability to understand today, but will be of priceless value in our future lives. I love you and you family so much. Love, Dad I just have one last thing to say to you. HAVE A GREAT DAY!"

She auctioned a few family sessions and I was lucky enough to win one of them!! Yay, I will FINALLY get some family pictures done! I was inspired by her and wanted to help some more so I am auctioning off a family session. The bidding will start at $175.00 and will include a 1-2 hr session, online gallery and a $175.00 print credit. My portrait sessions normally start at $325. Please submit your bids to julie@julieparkerphotography.com The deadline for the auction will be Feb. 1st!
